How do I remove the white background from a signature?

Use a dark pen on white paper, place the signature inside the guide box, tap Capture, then Clean. The app removes the paper background and keeps the signature strokes.

How do I make a handwritten signature transparent?

After capture, the Clean and Save actions export the signature as a PNG with transparent background pixels.

Can I use the PNG in Word, PDF, or forms?

Yes. The transparent PNG is designed for document overlays, forms, Word files, PDF workflows, and other places that accept image signatures.

Is this a digital signature or only a signature image?

This creates a transparent signature image. It is not a cryptographic digital signature and does not verify document identity or integrity.

What format will I receive?

Your signature downloads as a high-quality PNG with a transparent background.

Do I need special software?

No, everything works directly in your browser.

Can I install it on Android or iOS?

Yes. The site includes the PWA install pieces: HTTPS hosting, web app manifest, app icons, start URL, fullscreen display mode, and service worker. Use Android 10+ with a current install-capable browser, or iOS/iPadOS 16.4+ with Safari; camera capture still requires browser camera permission.

Is my signature safe?

Your signature image never leaves your device unless you choose to download it. We do not store or transmit your signature data.

Is the project open source?

Yes. You can inspect the code, run it locally, and deploy your own copy.

What if my camera does not work?

Check that your browser has permission to access the camera and refresh the page, or troubleshoot your camera settings.
